Our Story

From seeds to sprouts

Seedlings to Sprouts began serving the Greenwich, Cambridge, and surrounding areas in April of 2021.  Much like our name suggests we were just a little seed waiting to take root and grow.  It became clear early on that the community needed qualified daycare.  Seedlings to Sprouts answered the call becoming a NYS licensed family daycare center in June of 2022.  Just two months later, our roots began to branch out.  We are now a NYS licensed group family daycare center with the ability to serve 12 seeds and seedlings (ages 6 weeks-5 years old).

Learning Through Play

Centers

Stretching our leaves out towards the sun

At Seedlings to Sprouts children engage in center based learning activities.  Each center is tailored to every child's unique learning style and abilities.  In centers we build upon children's strengths fostering a love for learning.  During this time we work on Math, Literacy, Social Studies, Science, Arts/Crafts, Music, and fine motor skills.  We believe that when children love to learn their futures are as bright as the sun!

Gross Motor Development

Growing our muscles

At Seedlings to Sprouts we work on gross motor activities such as running, skipping, jumping, and throwing.  When children engage in outdoor recess time in our brand new fenced in play yard they exercise both mind and body.  Children learn about playing with our playground equipment as well as each other, but that's not all!  Our children learn social skills such as turn taking, problem solving, using their words, sharing, and waiting.

Morning Meeting

It's our daily sunrise

During morning meeting we work on social skills, weather, calendar, and literacy skills.  It's a time for our little seeds and seedlings to practice greeting our peers and staff, sharing what we know, speaking in full sentences, and putting all of our skills from centers into a real world format for additional practice.  All of this occurs while singing, dancing, laughing, and chatting our way through this favorite time of the day.

Meal times

Adding fuel to our "plants"

Seedlings to Sprouts participates in the CACFP.  That means all meals and snacks are provided by our facility.  Your sprouts will be served healthy and nutritious home cooked meals at no cost to you!  At Seedlings to Sprouts we believe that learning to enjoy healthy foods at a young age is an essential life skill.  Our children eat fruits and veggies from our garden and greenhouse whenever possible.  In addition, they are served farm fresh eggs from our onsite chicken flock.  We serve milk and water with meals and snacks.
